Who is God?

And God said unto them, “And whom do you say I am?

And they replied, “You are the eschatological manifestation of the ground of our being, the ontological foundation of the context of our very selfhood revealed.”

And God said unto them, “What?”

Great example of how man has taken the simplicity of God's Word and tried to one up Him with their own two cents. Which is exactly what mans modern day version of Bible doctine is worth........2 cents.

I just thought it was funny, but possibly you could interpret it in that manner. Though I think that God is really a bit more complex than what we give him credit and there is complexity to the Bible, we do have brains that God has given us and to switch them off would be a crime. We are called to love him with all our "heart, soul and mind" after all.

I would look at God as being deep more than complex, therefore still using your heart, soul and mind. His word was written in a manner that those who truly seek Him could understand and comprehend what He is telling us. The complex part comes into play in that in today's society most people tend to be very narrow, or dumbed down in their thought process. Not really taking the time to think deep or feel. So to that person the Bible might seem complex. Someone once told me when we read the Bible, we should read it as if we were reading a love letter. Slowly and really digesting every word. The problem today is that most read it, (if they read it at all), like a newspaper. Missing the depth of the Lord's message.

I don't think we really see it differently, we are just using a different word to describe our view.
